Son of Charles Asa Gavitt and Lusetta Anway. Named for his maternal grandfather. Married Edna Rose Kenan 1912. They had three children William, Charles, and Julia.

Harrison (Harry) Gavitt, 83, former resident of 2319 Buckland Ave., died Thursday in Villa Maria Nursing Home; Green Springs, after a lengthy illness.
Mr. Gavitt retired in 1952 from the Ohio Power Co. after nearly 30 years. He had been sales representative for the company.
Member of the First United Presbyterian Church, he was a member of the Sandusky County Historical Society, member and director and past president of the Sandusky County Automobile Club, past president of the Kiwanis Club and member and a founder of the Sandusky County Chamber of Commerce.
Born Jan. 17, 1889, in Republic, Mr. Gavitt was the son of Charles A. and Luesetta Anway Gavitt. He married Edna Rose Kenan in Mansfield in 1912. She died in 1970.
Surviving are sons, William B. and Charles F., and one daughter, Mrs. John (Julia) Lenhardt, all of Fremont; six grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Two half sisters are deceased.
Friends may call at the Keller and Son Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Saturday at 1:30 p.m. in the mortuary. The Rev. Robert Geyer and Dr. J. R. Walter will officiate with burial in Oakwood Cemetery.
The Family suggests memorials be made to the First United Presbyterian Church or the Villa Maria Nursing Home.
