Raymonde W. Brewton, 80, of Milton, FL was born to the late James Walls, Sr., and Eva Cawthon Walls. She was united in Holy Matrimony to the late Porter Brewton, Jr. on August 1, 1949. From this union they were blessed with ten loving children, five sons and five daughters.
Raymonde was a dedicated member of Isaiah Chapel A.M.E. Zion Church where she served faithfully. She was a devoted member of the Deaconess Board, Senior Choir and Gospel Chorus. Because of the way she lived her life, it was evident she was a Christian; she greeted everyone with a loving, affectionate smile and kind words. She focused on "the good" in people.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Porter Brewton, Jr.; son, Jeffrey Brewton, Sr., brothers, James Walls, Sr. and Harry M. Walls; sister, Mary Alice Green.
She leaves to cherish her memories four sons, Alfred Brewton (Venita Owens), Larry (Carolyn) Brewton, Fredrick Brewton, Sr. all of Milton, FL; Dwayne Brewton (Tracy Wright), of Pensacola, FL; five daughters, Yvonne Gray, of Pensacola, FL, Emily (Murray, Sr.) Hamilton, Michelle (Noah, Sr.) Parker, Myra Ewing, all of Milton, FL, and Deniece (Hervey) Griffin of Mableton, GA; daughter-in-law, Isabelle Brewton of Smyrna, GA; one special uncle, Curtis Cawthon of Omaha, NE; two special aunts, Bertha Larkins and Alice Nelson both of Milton, FL; three sisters-in-law, Lois Walls of Milton, FL, Joanne Walls of Hyattsville, MD and a loving, devoted (like a sister) Elizabeth Brewton, of Milton, FL; 21 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, three godchildren, other special relatives and friends.
The family extends a special thanks to her niece, Dr. Janice Weatherspoon, for her loving guidance and consultation.
Visitation will be held from 6-7:30 pm on Sunday, April 26, 2009 at Isaiah Chapel A.M.E. Church, 5038 Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive. Funeral services will be held at 1 pm on Monday, April 27, 2009 at First Assembly of God Church, 6163 Dogwood Drive, Milton, FL. Rev. Victor T. Alexander officiating. Interment will follow at Milton Keyser Cemetery.
