Janet Brown Bryan, age 90, of Athens, TN, died Tuesday, July 22, 2008, at Baptist Hospital West in Knoxville.

A native and resident of McMinn County for most of her life, she was a daughter of the late Jesse Barnett and Millie Ogle Brown. She was of the Methodist faith, and was preceded in death by her husband, Dallas Bryan; a daughter, Teena Daniels; a brother, Sam Brown; and five sisters, Myrtle Ross, Dorothy Stinson, Stella Shugart, Gertrude Williams and Zula Brown.

Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Jerry and Jane Bryan of Athens; one daughter, Jane Knox of Athens; three grandchildren, Kent Knox of Etowah, Hoyt Knox of Athens, and Bryan Phillips of Athens; two great-grandchildren; one brother and sister-in-law, Kenneth and Imogene Brown of Etowah; and one sister, Nell Brown of Etowah.

Funeral service will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, July 25th in the South Chapel with the Rev. Jack Bryan officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Friday.

Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at 9 a.m. Saturday, July 26th, and proceed to McMinn Memory Gardens for the 10 a.m. committal service.
