Born August 12, 1896 at Easley, Pickins County, South Carolina to Whitford and Martha Ann McNelly Sheriff.


Married Henry Roper on April 24, 1918 at Oak City, Utah; solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple. He died on June 21, 1985.


Devoted her life to her husband and family. A diligent and faithful member of LDS Church, served as a teacher in MIA, Sunday School and as Relief Society visiting teacher. Served with Henry as Stake missionaries.


Survived by sons and daughters, Verla Kellogg, Redding, California; Wilma Spring, Moab; Burns H. Roper, Ely, Nevada; Retha Campeau, Milford; A. Merrill Roper, Murray; 15 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; brothers, Clifford Sheriff, Sandy; and Wilford Sheriff, Oak City.


Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, March 12, 1990 in the Oak City Ward Chapel. Friends may call one hour prior to the services.
Burial will be in the Oak City Cemetery under the direction of Nickle Mortuary.
