Asa Luther Bittinger, 72, formerly of Bittinger, died last Thursday morning, December 30, at the home of his sister, Mrs. Cora Sechler, Salisbury, Pa., after being in ill health for some time. Mr. Bittinger was born at Bittinger January 12, 1882, a son of the late Jonas and Catherine Buckle Bittinger. He resided in that neighborhood until about three years ago when he moved to Salisbury to reside with his sister. He never married. Surviving are his sister, Mrs. Sechler, and a brother, Frederick Bittinger, Mt. Jackson, Va. He was a member of the Bittinger Methodist church. Funeral services were conducted Saturday afternoon from a funeral home in Salisbury, with Rev. James Allan, pastor of the Bittinger Lutheran church, officiating. Interment was in the Bittinger cemetery.
