Beloved son of Oscar R. "Dock" Smith and Nannie Greene Smith. He was the loving husband of Bernice Lee Richardson Smith. He was followed in death by daughter, Margie Smith Ehrlich. He was a member of Queen Street United Methodist Church. Survivors include their sons, Floyd A. Smith Jr. and wife, Barbara, and Thomas A. Smith Sr. and wife, Gloria, all of Kinston; two sister-in-laws, Marie Stallings of Tarboro and Christine Rouse of Greenville; five grandchildren, Tommy Smith Jr., Joan Ehrlich Miller, Judy Ehrlich, Glenn Smith, Jan Smith McKenrick; 11 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Smith owned a gas station in Kinston since the late 1920's, and was well-loved by his entire community. Floyd was followed in death by his grandson, Tommy Smith, Jr. He is deeply missed.
