Robert Grove, a Civil war veteran and pioneer resident of Centralia, Washington, married Abigail Ashbrook June 12, 1856. Thirteen children were born from this union. Mr. Grove came to Washington in 1882 and took up a homestead at Wildwood county. During the Civil war he served three years and three months in the 7th Illinois, participating in the battles of Lookout mountain, Stone river, Liberty gap, Chicamagua, and others.
