AALDERS, Elaine Elizabeth - 76, Halifax and more recently Wolfville, passed away October 3, 2005, in Wolfville Nursing Home. Elaine was born in Baltimore, Md., on February 23, 1929. She was a daughter of the late Mary (Edwards) and Clifford Harrison. She was brought to Halifax as a very young child where she grew up, was educated and worked. During her working years, she held various secretarial positions and was office manager for Provincial Electric for many years. In her early years, Elaine enjoyed shopping - always looking for a good bargain. She enjoyed going to Bingo and spending some time with her husband, Bud at their cottage in New Ross. Cooking and testing new recipes was a favorite pastime and she approached the task of ironing with meticulous care. In her later years, Elaine suffered with Alzheimer disease and to this end the family would like to extend special thanks to the staff at Melvin Gardens and the Wolfville Nursing Home. Their care and kindness is most appreciated. Elaine is survived by her daughter, Jane (Doug) Aalders St. Clair, Wolfville; son, Larry (Teri), Kansas City; grandson, Derek, Wichita, Kan.; sister, Eve (Art) Shiers, Halifax; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Donald "Bud" Aalders; sister, Patricia Robinson (Halifax). Cremation has taken place. Visitation will take place from 9 a.m. until time of service at 10 a.m. Friday, both in Atlantic Funeral Home, 6552 Bayers Rd., Halifax. Reception to follow. Burial will take place in Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
