DAVID K. CARTER


David Kenneth Carter, a very much loved husband, father, brother, son-in-law, uncle and friend to everyone, passed away Thursday, October 10, 1991, at LDS Hospital, from complications following a much needed liver transplant.

Born May 25, 1942 in Salt Lake City to Kenneth Steele and Arlene Ella Petersen Carter. Married Linda Niederhauser, November 25, 1964, in Salt Lake City; later solemnized in the LDS Temple.

Dave graduated from South High in 1960 and from Salt Lake Technical College, as a designer, and attended the U of U. Active member LDS Church, Hillside Ward, where he held numerous positions and duties. Currently serving as first counselor in the Bishopric. Employed for 20 years as a design engineer for Salt Lake County, and had a very good relationship with his co-workers. Was an accomplished Black Belt and loved to teach Karate. His hobbies were waterskiing, his family, reading the scriptures and was an avid fan of the Los Angeles Raiders.

Dave will be remembered for the battle he fought to stay alive and will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him.

Survived by wife; son, Jeffrey, 23; daughters, Stacey, 21; Tiffany, 18, all of Murray; sisters, Janet C. Dowdle, Orange, California; Saundra Brewer, Murray; brother, Michael, Sandy. Preceded in death by son, Scott, and his parents.

Funeral service Monday, October 14, 12 noon, Hillside Ward, 495 East 5600 South. Friends may call Sunday, 6-8 p.m., Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 So.State, and Monday 11-11:45 a.m. at the church. Interment: Murray City Cemetery.

The family of David would like to thank everyone who participated and donated to fund raising activities. We express our thanks to Dr. J. Kent Nelson, the LDS Hospital Transplant Team, Dr. Larry Stevens, Dr. LeGrand Belnap, and the ICU Nursing Staff.

In lieu of flowers family suggests contributions to the Organ Transplant Unit, Deseret Foundation, 8th Avenue and C Street, SLC, UT 84143.
