Martha Jane Crow Ellis was born Monday, January 23, 1860 to Daniel Reed Crow and Sarah Ann Bodery Crow. ~ She married John Ellis, a son of Ruffey Heywood Ellis and Elizabeth Dollar Ellis. ~ The ten children of Martha and John Ellis are Eva Ila Woodruff, Ed D. Ellis, Elizabeth Evie Hicks, Riley Barrett Ellis, W. Claude Ellis, John Butler Ellis, Jennie Bert Sanderson, Ruffey Heywood Ellis, Cersey Tillman Ellis and Lucy Ann Aldridge. ~ MRS. MARTHA ELLIS DIES AT HER HOME

Mrs. Martha Jane Ellis, aged 86 years, died Sunday morning at seven o 'clock at her home on Hartselle 2.

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at two o'clock at Johnson's Chapel by Rev. M. H. Harper and Rev. Walker Bynum.

Interment was made in the adjoining cemetery, Peck, of Hartselle, directing.

The following grandsons were pallbearers: Harold Hill, John Woodruff, Hilton Aldridge, Willis Hicks, Chester Ellis and R. B. Ellis.

Mrs. Ellis, long a beloved resident of the Hartselle 2 section, is survived by three sons: Ed Ellis, Danville 3, Butler Ellis, Moulton and R. H. Ellis, Hartselle 2; four daughters, Mrs. Gabe Woodruff, Decatur, Mrs. W. W. Hicks, Danville 3, Mrs. T. J. Weed, Columbus, Ga., and Mrs. Grady Aldridge, Decatur.
