Former Resident Dies in Cleveland
AMHERST, O., Oct 17, 1939 – Mrs. Johanna T. Finnegan, 83, died in her home in Cleveland at 2 a.m. Monday. Mrs. Finnegan was a former resident of Amherst and mother of well known Amherst residents. Her death followed an illness of four weeks. She would have celebrated her 84th birthday Wednesday.
Born in Glueph, Ont., Mrs. Finnegan came to the United States in 1865 and resided in Amherst until 1913 when she moved to Cleveland. Her husband, Thomas J., died Nov. 5, 1905.
Surviving are three sons: Hugh A., Amherst; John A., Elyria; and Thomas V., Cleveland; three daughters: Katherine, Cleveland, with whom she made her home; Mrs. E. E. Fry and Mrs. C. F. Roth, both of Cleveland.
The body will remain at the Flynn funeral home at Euclid and Farmington Avenue, Cleveland, until 10 a.m. Wednesday when a solemn requiem mass will be celebrated in the Christ the King church. Burial will be in Calvary cemetery, Lorain.
