The Prescott Courier on May 19, 1988:

Arnold Arlo Best, 69, Chino Valley, died May 16 in his home. He was born Oct. 11, 1918, in Clarian County, Pa. to Cloyde Cecil and Maude M. (Garis) Best.

Mr. Best moved to Arizona from California in 1978. He was self-employed as a musician for most of his life. He was a "one-man-band."

He was a member of the 40 & 8, Chino Valley; American Legion Post 40, Chino Valley; a life member of VFW Post 541, Prescott; and a glider pilot with the U.S. Army Air Corp during World War II.

Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth Best, Chino Valley; one sister, Phyllis Calmbacher, Holcomb, N.Y.; and one brother, Gene Best, Houston, Texas.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, May 20, at the Chino Valley American Legion Post.

The family suggests contributions to the Yavapai County Public Fiduciary's office, 910 Division St., 86301 – for the care and assistance of his widow.
