Alma was the 2nd child born to Tom & Vicie Sims. She never married & lived most of her adult life with her brother Troy. She helped Troy in the care of his daughters after his 1st wife passed away, as well as helping during the sickness of his 2nd wife Sallie. She passed away just 17 days after her brother Grover did in 1945. Her death was a result of bronchial asthma due to influenza. A story my mother Frances Sims always told while I was younger was that a mockingbird had flew into a window at their home, (Troy's place), just before Grover died & again when Alma had passed away. Because of that, everytime that a bird flew into our window in Florence, she would always look for the phone to ring telling her someone had died.
