Born Oct. 21, 1971 in Harbor Beach to Gary and Barbara (Burns) Harwood.

Grandson of the late Glenn and Jane[Calista "Jane" Kiefer} Harwood and Rita L.(Soukup) Burns and William D. Burns

Gary graduated from Port Hope High School in 1989 and has lived in Huron County all of his life.

On May 8, 1993, he was united in marriage to Tracey L. Welshans at the Bad Axe Free Methodist Church.

Gary was currently employed at CKS Tool and Engineering in Bad Axe as a lathe operator. Prior to that, he worked at Micro EDM in Cass City for eight years and at several other small machine shops.

He was a former member of the Port Hope United Methodist Church. Gary enjoyed fishing, four wheeling, car racing and was a big NASCAR fan. Gary devoted much of his free time playing with his three daughters, going to their ball games and sporting events.

Surviving are his wife, Tracey; three daughters, Kaytlin, Paige and Jayden Rose at home; his parents, Gary and Barbara Harwood of Port Hope; two sisters, Janet{Jeff} Miller of Bad Axe and Nancy (Justin) Vliet of Grand Rapids niece Calista Leeann Vliet nephew Nathan Glenn Vliet; his maternal grandmother, Rita Burns of McHenry, Ill.; mother-in-law, Marilyn Welshans of Sand Point; brother-in-law, Ryan Welshans of Pigeon; grandparents, Don and Louise Welshans of Sand Point; and several aunts, uncles and many cousins

Gary's family donated his remains to Gift of Life so he will bring hope and life to a family in need.
