Norma J. Lloyd, 81, of La Porte, died Wednesday, April 22, 2009 at La Porte Hospital.
She was born Aug. 18, 1927, in Dayton, Ohio, daughter of the late Joseph Miner and the late Wilma (Cavitt) Miner.
She was married on March 16, 1946 at First Methodist Church in La Porte to Frank Lloyd who survives.
She was a 60 year member of First Baptist Church and sang in the choir for 45 years, served on several boards of the church, Women's Literary and was active in La Porte Little Theater for many years.
She worked as a billing clerk for Whirlpool Corporation.
Surviving are her son, Dr. Dennis Lloyd of Ontario, Calif.; daughter, Sandra Lloyd of Montesano, Wash., two sisters, Eileen Visser of Grand Rapids, Mich., and Faye Decesare of Brooklyn, Ohio; four brothers, Martin Collins of Cleveland, Ohio, Leonard Collins of Westlake, Ohio, Willard Collins of Cleveland, and Alan Collins of Cleveland; four granddaughters, Teresa Hamilton, Kelly Reyes, Kerstin Brockie and Karen Macias; five great-grandsons, and four great-granddaughters.
She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Esther Sherer.
Friends will be received on Saturday, April 25, 2009 from 3 to 6p.m., at the Cutler Funeral Home, La Porte. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, April 26, 2009 at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church with Dr. Dennis Lloyd and Rev. Doug Baker and Pastor Steve Laue officiating. Interment will follow at a later time in Patton Cemetery, La Porte.
