Mr. Carl Hirchert, father of Mrs. Leob died at the Loeb residence, October 28th.
Mr. Hirchert was born April 8th, 1846, in Germany. At the age of 20 years he came to America. November 28th, 1868, he was united in marriage to Margaretha Harder at Madison, Wis. To this union, fourteen children were born, 10 sons and 4 daughters. His wife passed to her Heavenly reward in 1917. The last few years, Mr. Hirchert has spent with his children living in North Dakota, and Nebraska, and Iowa. About 10 days ago he suffered a stroke and passed away Thursday a.m. Funeral services were held by Rev. Koch, whose church he attended when here. The remains were shipped to Laurel, Nebraska, and funeral services were held at the Lutheran church at that place. He was 80 years and 6 months of age.
