Billy Dobbins, 66
CROOKSVILLE - Billy Dobbins, 66, of 133 Forest Drive, Liberty, Texas, formerly of New Lexington, passed away in the early morning Sunday, Oct. 28, 2007, at his residence.
Born Sept. 14, 1941, in Sunbury, he retired from Texas Eastern (Duke Energy), where he was a supervisor. Bill was Free Methodist by faith and he had served his country in the U.S. Navy and was a member of Masonic Lodge 0678 in Mason.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Connie Barringer Dobbins; two sons, Billy (Lisa) Dobbins Jr. of Findlay and Brian Dobbins of Vidor, Texas; three sisters, Shirley (Donnie) Hinkle, Betty (Dick) Anderson, all of New Lexington and Dorothy (Roger) Sprankle of Crooksville; one brother, Bob (Maxine) Dobbins of Huber Heights; seven grandchildren, Brittany, Clayton, Kaitlynn, Billy, Kryssa, Bridgette and A.J.; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Ed and Sandy Barringer.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Hugh Dobbins and Sella Childers Dobbins; his sister, Nellie Anderson and brother-in-law, Gary Anderson.
Calling hours will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 2, at Goebel Funeral Home, 36 N. Buckeye St., Crooksville, where Masonic services will be held at 8 p.m. with Peerless Lodge 591 in charge.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 3, 2007, at the funeral home with the Rev. Dan Greer officiating. Burial will follow in New Lexington Cemetery with full military honors.
