Charles Thomas Atwood

Charles Thomas (Dick) Atwood, 53, died Friday morning in a Wichita Falls hospital after a long illness.

Thomas, a retired farmer, was born in Wheeler County November 29, 1915, and lived in Wheeler all his life. He was a member of the Methodist Church.

Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. today at the First Methodist Church in Wheeler with Rev. Wilbur Gaede, pastor, officiating, and the Rev. Keith McCormick, pastor of First Baptist Church, assisting.

Burial will be in Wheeler Cemetery.

Thomas is survived by his wife, Wilma, Wheeler; mother, Mrs. Florence Atwood, Pampa; grandmother, Mrs. Viola Atwood, Pampa; two sons, Joe and Riley, Wheeler; sister Mrs. Louise Durham, Spearman; three brothers, Walter, Wheeler; Ted and Jack, Pampa; and one granddaughter.

Services are under the direction of Wright-Denson Funeral Home, Wheeler.
