J.B. ‘Pete' Alford, a retired carpenter, died Saturday at a family home. He was 79.
Alford was a native of Pensacola and a resident of Perdido.
Survivors include his wife, Vera Pearl Jackson Alford of Perdido.
The funeral is set for 2:30 p.m. today at Atmore Memorial Chapel Funeral Home in Atmore.
Burial will be in Bryars-McGill Cemetery in Perdido.

J.B. Alford, 79, a resident of Perdido, died on Saturday Aug. 14, 2004 at his residence. He was a retired carpenter.
Survivors include: his wife Vera Pearl Jackson Alford and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at Atmore Memorial Chapel Funeral Home on Sunday, Aug. 15 at 2:30 p.m. with Sister Thursia Long and Bro. Malcolm Harrelson officiating. Burial followed in the Bryars-McGill cemetery in Perdido.
Arrangements were by Atmore Memorial Chapel Funeral Home.
