Durand, March 18 - Edward Damon, 71, former resident of Rockford, died yesterday afternoon at his home in Durand following a short illness.
Mr. Damon was born in New York in 1858 and came to Rockford when he was eight years old. He has lived in Rockford and Durand since.
He married in 1886 and is survived by his wife Sarah and four children. They are: Mrs. Myrtle Carlson, of Durand, and Ernest and Fred of Durand and Mrs. Gladys Goldy of Rockford.
Nine grandchildren and one brother also survive.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 1:30 o'clock at the home and at 2 o'clock at the Methodist church. The Rev. L.E. Winters will officiate. The services will be in charge of the masons. Burial will be in Durand cemetery.
Mr. Damon is an uncle of Bert Damon, manager of the Palace theater, Rockford.
