Johanna Jacoba Vander Meide Mortensen, 75, passed away peacefully on the 25th of March, 1992 after a long illness.
She was born in Rotterdam, Holland, July 30, 1916 to Pieter and Cornelia Vriens Vander Meide. Married Foppe Feenstra in 1943; he died in 1945.
Immigrated to the United States in 1947, became a U.S. citizen and married Deforrest Olsen; he died in 1961. Married Alton Beebe, 1968; he died in 1982. Married Edwin N. Mortensen in 1985.
She is survived by her husband, Salt Lake City; sons, Edward D. Olsen, Morgan; and Pieter C.J. Feenstra; daughters, Emily A. Warner and Sorena Herring, all of Salt Lake City; 18 grandchildren; numerous stepchildren and step-grandchildren; her brothers, Jacob, Benjamin and Jozef Vander Meide, Salt Lake City; and her sister, Corrie Kip, St. George.
Preceded in death by her two brothers, Johannes and Pieter Vander Meide.
She was an active member of the LDS Church and an avid genealogist.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 28, 12 noon, McKay Ward Chapel, 1623 South 500 East, Salt Lake City. Friends may call at Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple, Friday, 6-8 p.m., and at the Chapel Saturday, one hour prior to services. Interment, Murray City Cemetery.
