Ethel was a daughter of George Walter and Ammie Dell Runyon Sutherland. Her family lived in Mackey, Soda Springs, and Pocatello, Idaho when she was a child. She married Thomas Benton Prigmore in Salt Lake City, Utah on June 27, 1942. They moved to Oregon and were later divorced. Ethel moved to Ogden, Utah in 1965 and remained there for the next 20 years. She married Wilford Burns Keyes in Ogden in about 1965. He died on 19 September 1979. Ethel was a member of the LDS Church. She was a registered nurse and had worked at McKay-Dee Hospital in Ogden. She was survived by her sons: Thomas Prigmore of Klamath Falls, Oregon, and John Prigmore of Portland, Oregon; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She was also survived by a sister, Edna Cameron, of Florida.
