Keclik was a gunner on B-17F #41-24427, assigned to the 5th Air Force, 19th Bombardment Group, 30th Bombardment Squadron.

They took off from Port Morsby on a mission to bomb Rabaul, and were not heard from again. The US Army officially declared him dead on January 7, 1946.

He received the Silver Star with Oak Leaf Cluster and the Purple Heart.

Keclik is also memorialized on the Tablets of the Missing in the manila American Cemetery in the Philippines.
