A graveside service was held at 11 a.m. Monday in Guilford Memorial Park. Mr. Beal, a native of Guilford County, was retired as an engineer from the Southern Railway after 47 years of service and was a member of the Brotherhood of Engineers.
Joseph Allen Beal was the son of Jospeh (Joe) John Beal and Roxie L. Phillips Beal. He was married to Elizabeth May Beal. He was the grandson of Caleb Robert Beal and Sarah Smith Beal of Chatham County, NC.
He was survived by his wife, Elizabeth May Beal of the home; daughter, Brenda Beal Reynolds of Charlottesville, Va.; sons, Joseph John Beal of Siler City and Ernest Randall Beal of Pleasant Garden; brother, Robey Arnold Beal of Fort Walton, Fla.; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
