This is my 4 times great-grandfather and there are several errors, according to the book Beulah and Beyond, a Story of the Beulah Baptist Church & Community 1835-1899 by W.A. Whitten, Jr. Birth date is unknown but is believed to be between 1775-1785 in South Carolina. Robert migrated to GA about 1800-1808. Robert died in GA & his family sold his land on 11 Sep. 1852, so death date is about 1852. He is buried in GA but his burial place is unknown. His widow, Margaret, moved to MS after his death to live with her six children who were living in MS at that time. One son, Joseph A remained in GA. Of the seven children born to Robert & Margaret, only three memorial listings on Find-a-Grave are known to me at the present time: Carlisle-Mem ID# 14340591, Thomas-Mem ID# 53727970, and Milton-Mem ID# 36226648. The Samuel Lewis Black listed here as a son is wrong. Also John Robert Black is wrong. Samuel Lewis Black is most likely a nephew of Robert T. Black (possibly the son of Robert's brother, John Black).
Robert and Margaret's son, Samuel Black, is my 3 times great-grandfather and I would like to have a memorial listing created for him, if possible. Samuel Black (son of Robert T & Margaret) was born about 1811 in GA but the date and place of his death is not known. He lived in a part of Winston County that later became Choctaw County. He appears there in the 1860 census but he has apparently died by 1870 because the 1870 census shows his wife, Rebecca, listed as head of family with five of their children living with her.
