Funeral services for Thela Garland (Epperson) Graves, 87, Cassville, Missouri, were be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, April 17, 2009 at New Hope Baptist Church in Peace Valley, Missouri under the direction of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.

Mrs. Graves died 10:50 a.m., Tuesday, April 14, 2009 in St. John's Regional Health Center, Springfield, Missouri. She was born October 12, 1921 at Mountain View, Missouri to John and Dollie Epperson. She graduated from Mountain View High School, and on September 10, 1940, Thela was married at Mountain View, Missouri to Robert Douglas (Doug) Graves; and to this union four daughters were born.

The Graves family owned and operated a family shoe store in Mountain View, Missouri for many years. Thela also owned and operated The Mountain View Ready-To-Wear. She was active in the Business and Professional Women in Mountain View and served as a Gray Lady at St. Francis Hospital.

She had a very close relationship with her Saviour and loved to study God's Word. Her love and devotion for her family was unfailing. She was a loving wife, mother and Mamie. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Thela is survived by one sister, Thelma Roush, West Plains, MO; one brother, Don Epperson, Blue Springs, MO; one son-in-law, Jerry Smith, Heber Spring, Arkansas; three daughters: Karen (Ron) Cafourek, Birch Tree, Missouri; Bertie (Dan) Bailey, Cassville, Missouri; and Jimmie (Dick) Moger, Springfield, Missouri; eleven grandchildren: Terri Neary, Tracy McNamera, Tammy Dennis, Shannon Cafourek, Mandy Stout, Paul Bailey, Beverly Baker, Jay Graves Bailey, Jamie Zastrow, Jill Carr and Donna Moger; and fourteen great-grandchildren: Tim, Robert Douglas, John, Jake, Cherise, Tanner, Conor, Jazlyn, Shalin, Jordan, Alec, Hunter, Noah Douglas and Caroline.

Thela was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of sixty-one years; daughter, Donna Graves Smith; grandson, Mark Cafourek; four brothers and two sisters.

Visitation was from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m., Thursday at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. Burial was at New Hope Cemetery.
