Roy Francis “Pete” Berry
BERRY, Roy Francis “Pete” - Age 75, of Myrtle Creek, passed away Wednesday, February 18, 1998 at his home. He was born February 7, 1923 in San Bernardino, California to Roy F. and Edith E. (Bolloroff) Berry. Mr. Berry served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. On September 15, 1949 in Victorville, California, he married Doris Smith. Following the war, Roy worked as a cement truck driver and then went to work in the aerospace industry in 1951 He retired as a quality controlman in 1987. In 1988, the Berry's moved to Sutherlin, Oregon and then to Myrtle Creek, Oregon. Mr Berry enjoyed golfing and walking in the woods. Mr. Berry was a member of the Tri City Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Doris Berry of Myrtle Creek; son Daniel R. Berry and his wife Carla, of Las Vegas, Nevada' sister, Lucille Maspero of Yucca Valley, California; brother Chester Berry of Newport Beach, California; great grandchildren, Danya Gresham and Scott Berry; grandchildren, Samantha, John and Reanna. Memorial services will be held Monday, February 23, 1998 at 11 a.m. at the Tri City Baptist Church. Pastor John Gustafson will officiate. Private cremation rites have been held. LONG & SHUKLE CHAPEL MEMORIAL CHAPEL is in charge of arrangements.
