He is the son of Haines and Elizabeth (Whitehouse) Farnum. He removed to Rumney in 1842. There were 3 children: Mary E, Sarah E and Martha J.
•Eliza Ann who married J. Lyford.
•Sarah who married Asaph Dearborn.
