He was born in Stokes County to Harry Lee and Gradie Cardwell Vaden.
Mr. Vaden traveled as an international cost analyst and retired from R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Co. with 35 years of service. He attended River Oaks Community Church. Mr. Vaden was a member of the Central YMCA, and also loved gourmet cooking. He was a loving and compassionate husband, son, father, grandfather and friend.
Mr. Vaden was preceded in death by his mother.
He is survived by his wife, Jamie Vaden, of the home; his father, Harry Lee Vaden; a daughter, Shawn Carpenter and husband, Tim; a stepdaughter, Shannon Mitchell and husband, Jeff; a stepson, Mike Dillon and wife, Tina; six grandchildren; four uncles, Louis Vaden, Jessie Cardwell, Marion Vaden, and Lenzy Vaden; five aunts, Lois George, Margaret Vaden, Lolean Vaden, Edith Vaden, and Frances Vaden.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 31, at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel, with Pastor David Beaty officiating. Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory in Walkertown. The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 2 p.m. before the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice & Palliative CareCenter, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
