Died in West Paris, October 10th, Col. Jordan Stacy, aged eighty-two years and seven months. The deceased was formerly a resident of Porter, and was well known in that section of Oxford county for many years as an active business man. He was a deputy sheriff more than fifty years ago and forty years ago or more he was Colonel in the Maine Militia. He has a brother living in Porter, Oliver Stacy, aged eighty-six years, who retains his strength and abilities to a remarkable degree, being able to read fine print without glasses. Col Stacy was the father of Sheriff L. D. Stacy of Paris, and of ex-secretary of State George G. Stacy.
