Mrs. Melinda Long, who for many years lived in the west part of town, but who has been living with her daughter, Mrs. Nina Ward for a number of years, passed away Sunday, May 6th. The deceased was 81 years of age at the time of her death. Funeral services were held Monday at the home, Rev. Ewton officiating, burial at the Shawnee Mission Cemetery [later called the Tecumseh Cemetery].
