Mr. Adams was born in Morehouse Parish, May 1, 1932, and grew up on Horseshoe Lake (Mer Rouge). He was retired from International Paper Company's Single Service Division and over the past several years has served as City Alderman with the Village of Bonita. He was a member of American Legion Post #51 having served in the U.S. National Guard. Mr. Adams enjoyed local politics and assisted in many local projects including Bonita's Community Services and the Beautification Committee. Gardening, fishing and playing pool and dominos were some of his many hobbies, but he especially enjoyed music which included playing his favorite instrument, the harmonica.
Mr. Adams is survived by four daughters; Pam Jones and husband Jerry of Hamburg, AR, Teresa Hicks and husband Keith of Bay Minnette, AL, Rhonda Turnbow and husband Tory of Bastrop, LA, Donna Adams of Bastrop, LA; son, Thomas H. Adams, Jr. of Hamburg, AR; three sisters, Mildred Freeman of West Monroe, LA, Omega Bienz of Collinston, LA, Glenda Temple of Bastrop, LA; eleven grandchildren, three great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Thomas E. and Lily K. Adams; brothers, Charles L. Adams, Raymond "Gene" Adams and grandson, Hunter Lee Adams.
Serving as pallbearers are: Charles L. Adams, Jr., Tommy Hales, Mark Goodson, Grady Rinehart, Seth Anthony and Justin McKoin.
Honorary pallbearers are the members of the American Legion.
