Patty Lee, Barnes, age 58, of Warsaw, Missouri, passed away Tuesday evening, April 21, 2009, at the Bothwell Regional Health Center in Sedalia, Missouri. She was born in Napa, California, on May 31, 1950, the daughter of Bobbie Joe and Ella Virginia Jones White.
She grew up in California and graduated from Lynbrook High School in San Jose, California. She then received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminology from Fresno State University. She made her home in California until moving to Warrensburg, Missouri, in 2000.
On June 21, 2001, she was united in marriage to Stephen E. Barnes. Since then they have made their home near Warsaw.
Patty enjoyed reading a good book, cooking for her family, knitting & crocheting, again to the benefit of her family and friends. She always kept a beautiful flower garden around her home and a large vegetable garden she again shared with family and friends. She loved animals and always kept pets and collected most of the strays in her neighborhood, caring for each and every one as her own.
She attended church at the Poplar Baptist Church and went with her husband to St. Ann's Catholic Church on many occasions.
Patty is survived by her husband, Stephen, of the home, three children, Barbara McCombs, and her husband, Eddie, of Redding, California, Kelly Finnegan, of Turlock, California, and Justin Fraser, of San Francisco, California, three grandsons, Donny Finnegan, Shawn Finnegan, and Justin Finnegan. She also leaves two brothers, Robert Swart, of San Jose, Gregory Swart, of Sunnyvale, California, two sisters, Debbie Garcia, of Turlock and Mary Bepristis, of Parker, Colorado, numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Patty Barnes will be cremated and her ashes will be interred at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Independence, Missouri. A Memorial Service will be scheduled at a later date.
