Groh, Andrew (March 24, 1880-June 21, 1942 –husband of Emily Rauch [married July 2, 1907 at St. Gregory Catholic Church in St. Nazianz, Town of Eaton] –son of Peter Groh and Anna Herr –born Town of Meeme –farmer in Town of Eaton –on March 3, 1910 purchased the 85 acre farm centered at 17324 Carstens Lake Road in Section 18, Town of Liberty from the widower John Gutman –Andrew owned this farm until selling to his elder brother William Groh on Jan. 11, 1922 –on May 23, 1921 purchase from his widowed father-in-law Joseph Rauch the 219 acre farm centered at 22520 Groh Road in Section 17, Town of Eaton –owned this farm until his death in 1942 –on June 5, 1947 his widow Emily sold this farm to her son Frederick Groh –died from “cardiac decompensation –cor bovium [hereditary] and case of heart failure”) ” –buried at St. Gregory Catholic Cemetery in St. Nazianz, Town of Eaton [buried in Section 2, Row 16, Lot 32 –stone] [marriage record Manitowoc 8-52] [death record Manitowoc 35-201]

ANDREW GROH, 62, of Eaton, town treasurer and school district clerk and active in several affairs in his community for years, died Sunday at his farm home on route 4, Chilton, following a year's illness.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. from the St. Gregory's Catholic church at St. Nazianz. Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery.

Mr. Groh, son of Peter and Anna Groh, was born at Meeme in 1880 and was educated in the district schools of the town. In 1907 he married Miss Emily Rauch in St. Nazianz and they located on the present homestead northwest of the village.

Mr. Groh has served three years as town treasurer, was clerk of School District No. 3 in Eaton and was a former president of the Holy Name Society of St. Gregory's congregation He was also a member of the Catholic Order of Foresters.

Survivors are the widow; four sons, Raymond of Brillion, Norman of Columbus, Wis., George, with the U.S. Army Air Corps in India, Frederick on the home farm; six daughters, Margaret and Adeline in Milwaukee, Rita, Marie, Gladys and Mildred, at home; brother, Frank of Appleton; two sisters, Margaret of St. Nazianz, Mrs. L. Schwartz, of Kiel; and four grandchildren.

Members of the two societies will meet at the Groh home Tuesday evening at 8 o'clock to recite the rosary.
