"Louisa Wiles, wife of Charles Dopp, died at her home in Amsterdam Sunday afternoon, March 19th, at 1 o'clock of a complication of diseases in the 67th year of her age. Mrs. Dopp had been in failing health since April of last year but was not obliged to take to her bed until one week ago. While her condition was regarded as serious, strong hopes were entertained by members of the family that she would recover and her death, therefore, was a great shock to them.

Mrs. Dopp was a daughter of Elijah and Mary Ann Wiles and was born at Fort Plain October 20, 1849. She lived there until her marriage to Mr. Dopp when she moved to Sloansville. After residing in several other places she took up her residence with her family in Amsterdam eighteen years ago where she has since resided.

Mrs. Dopp's kind and loving disposition endeared her to a large circle of friends. She was a devoted wife and mother. The surviving relatives are her husband, three daughters, the Misses Belle and Frances Dopp, of Amsterdam and Mrs. H. G. Stokes of Gloversville, one brother, Anthony Wiles, a half brother, George Wiles, of Fort Plain, and a half sister, Mrs. Alonzo Van Wie of Columbia, Pa.

The funeral was held at the home Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock, the Rev. Dr. H. T. McEwen, of the Second Presbyterian church officiating. The remains were placed in the vault in Green Hill for the present and in the spring will be taken to Sloansville for interment."
