Edgar A. Reed, 87, of Ingleside Retirement Home, 1005 N. Franklin St., died Wednesday in Riverside Hospital from a heart condition.
Mr. Reed retired in 1962 as a brakeman for the Baltimore & Ohio Railroad after 22 years. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War I.
His wife, Emma Reed, died in 1978. He is survived by a sister, Alice Ott of Pittsburgh; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Services will be Saturday morning at 11 in McCrery Memorial Chapel, Kirkwood Highway and Duncan Road, where friends may call Friday night. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery, 33rd and Market streets. Instead of flowers, the family suggests contributions to Ingleside Retirement Home Memorial Fund, Wilmington 19806.
