Marine Corps Reserve 2nd Lieut. P. B. Abbot (a former USMCR enlisted man [1918-1922]) was designated Naval Aviator #4710 in 1932.

Parker Abbott, along with six others died when the passenger plane of Lincas Arias Occidentales, on a flight from Mazatlan to La Paz, being flown by Abbott, went down at night some 60 miles off the coast after departing Mazatlan. Reportedly an initial sighting via light indicated survivors, but follow up attempts found nothing and all were declared lost.

Mr. Abbott left a wife, the former Miss Emmlyn J. Scholtz, and two children.
