Samantha Straley
Mrs. J.H. Straley died Fri morning at home near Ekin
after being an illness of a week with flu, because of her age, disease was very pronounced and she became critically ill within a short time.
Funeral arrangements have not been made except that services will be held at East Union and burial will be there.
Deceased was born in Fayette county, Ohio, in 1843
Married to J.H. Straley on Oct 19, 1865, a short time after he returned from the war and they moved to Tipton county near Ekin. Mr Straley died several years ago.
Survived by three children, Mrs. T. J. Small, George E Straley of near Ekin, and John A. Stradley at home
Member of Baptist church
Resided in the Ekin community for many years and well known through that section

Note from Cindy Potts: I tried to look for Ekin, Indiana to put in what county it is in and it told me that there was no such town as Ekin, Indiana, so it must be very old town???
