Ned Eugene Keech, of Ormond Beach, FL, passed away April 18, 2009, in Cleveland, Ohio.

After graduating from high school in York, he served in the U.S. Navy and was a plank holder on the U.S.S. Nitro. He was an assistant fire chief at the Clinton Volunteer Fire Department where he earned a citation from the Governor of Connecticut for saving the life of a young girl. He worked at SNET in New Haven, Connecticut for 15 years before transferring in 1978 to BellSouth in Daytona Beach, FL, where he retired in 1998.

Ned traveled extensively and was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing with the family. He enjoyed coaching his children's teams and was always willing to participate. He ran The Savannah Marathon and the Paul Debruyn Marathon in Ormond Beach, FL, and qualified to run the Boston Marathon.

He loved his family and friends, especially his six grandchildren. Ned was a good friend and a Great father.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Eleanor Keech; his children, Kimberly Sarkovich, Douglas Keech and Stefanie Ibison; and six grandchildren, Stefan Sarkovich, Marco Sarkovich, Elizabeth Keech, Olivia Keech, Kari Ibison and Colin Ibison; his brother, Ira Keech; his sisters, Nadine Worley and Joan Warner.
