David Hart came into Ashland County from Washington, County Pennsylvania, in 1831, and settled in the woods, one mile and three quarters northwest of Savannah. Immediately after his arrival he set about erecting for himself a cabin. In 1835 he was married to Miss Ann McCorkle. Robert, who is the only living representative of his family living in this State, resides on the old home farm, which he inherited from his father. On September 18,1861 he was married to Jennie Gault. To them were born four children, all of whom are living, Mary, Charles, John, and Wylie. Mr. Hart is an extensive wool-grower, and a prominent farmer in this county.
