Mr. Buttermore was a member of Sunflower Lodge, Wichita Consistory and Midian Shrine, High 12.

Preceded in death by son, Alvin L. Buttermore Jr.

Survivors: wife, Bernice L.; daughter-in-law, Patricia of Wichita; brothers, Paul of Des Moines, Iowa, John, Leon both of North Platte, Neb., Marcell of Denver, Charles of Security, Colo., Jack of Austin, Texas; sisters, Cordelia Zimmerman of Rocky Mount, Mo., Mary Jean Clay of Des Moines, Iowa, Bonnie Weilt of Mount Vernon, Ill.; grandchildren, Sherrie Flowers of Miss., Alvin "Len" L. Buttermore III of Fla., Bradley "Brad" David Buttermore of Ga., Jennifer Lynn Buttermore-Schott of Wichita; two great-grandchildren. Memorial has been established with First United Methodist Church TV Ministry.
