Koosharem/Ivins, Utah - Our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister, Leida Ruth Jackson Hatch, age 93, of Koosharem, died April 18, 2009 in Richfield, Utah.

She was born April 7, 1916 in Lyman, Utah, a daughter of William Thomas and Mary Jane Allen Jackson. She grew up in Loa and graduated from Wayne High School, Class of 1934 and then attended Snow College in Ephraim.

She married Alpheus Vernal Hatch, July 23, 1936 in the Manti LDS Temple. He died July 5, 1983.

Leida was an active member of the LDS Church, serving in all the auxiliaries. She served a full time mission for the Church to Denver Colorado in 1986 to 1988. She enjoyed spending time in the St. George Temple with her husband and family.

Leida was a nurse and worked in Monticello, at the Sevier Valley Hospital in Richfield and Dixie Regional Hospital in St. George, where she retired. She lived in Ivins from 1970 to 2006.

She enjoyed quilting, painting, fishing, deer hunting and she was a tremendous cook, not only for her family, but for anyone who entered her home. They never left hungry. She made great pies.

Leida was a great example to her grandchildren and she really enjoyed playing cards with them.

Leida was the care giver for her mother for many years before her death. She also enjoyed traveling with her sisters and brother.

She is survived by her children: Clidell and Yvonne Hatch of Las Vegas, NV; LaJunne and LaGrande Neilson of Magna; Linden and Annette Hatch of Koosharem; Brent and Dixie Hatch of Koosharem and St. George; Nedra and David Twitchell of Ivins; Eldon Ira Hatch of Richfield; 25 grandchildren; 59 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; two sisters: LuDean and Leland Teeples of Richfield; Ardella Green of Layton.

She was preceded in death by two grandsons and one granddaughter: Steven Neilson; Brendon Clidell Hatch; and Annette Davis Twitchell; three brothers and three sisters: William Allen Jackson, John Reed Jackson, Thomas Roe Jackson, Grace Lapreal Jackson, Mary Ellen Hollingsworth and Emily Lavee Dickinson.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 25, 2009 at 1:00 P.M. in the Koosharem LDS Ward Chapel, where friends may call for viewing Saturday morning from 10:30 to 12:30 prior to the services.

Burial will be in the Koosharem Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
