Russell Haley Carter age 66 of Evening Shade died Thursday April 16, 2009 at the White River Medical Center in Batesville.He was born November 29, 1942 at Evening Shade, Arkansas to Clyde and Flava Haley Carter. He was a farmer and a weather observer for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Adminstration for 30 years

He was preceded in death by his parents, one infant brother and one sister, Venita Carter Norris.

Survivors include his wife Linda Jones Carter of the home, one son, Joe Paul Carter of Evening Shade, one daughter, Wanda Kaye Stuntz of Evening Shade, one brother Raybourne Carter of Batesville, four grandchildren, Andrea Kaye Stuntz, Paul Allen Stuntz, Seth Russell Stuntz and Samuel Christopher Stuntz all of Evening Shade, two nieces, one nephew and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will begin Sunday April 19, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at the Qualls Funeral Home Chapel in Cave City with Bro. Larry Weaver officiating, Burial will follow in the Bear Creek Cemetery located at Evening Shade with arrangements by Qualls Funeral Home of Cave City.

Visitation will begin Saturday April 18, 2009 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m.

Pallbearers will be Paul Bacon, Lonnie Lee Haley, Allen Carpenter, Doug Anderson, Mike Anderson and Bobby Campbell.

Honorary pallbearers are Red Jaggers, Jimmie Don Kunkel, Amel Haley, Clay Campbell, Monty Haley and Bill Williams.
