Lloyd Glenn Ingles, 80, of Pebble Beach, emeritus professor, former head of the division of life sciences, chairman of the biology department and professor of zoology at Fresno State University, died Sunday at Beverly Manor Convalescent Hospital after a short illness. Born March 28, 1901, in Camden, IL, he has been a Pebble Beach resident for the past four years. He graduated from the University of Redlands with a bachelor's degree in zoology in 1925, obtained his master's degree in zoology from Claremont College in 1928 and his doctorate in zoology from University of California at Berkeley in 1932. He taught for 32 years in the state college system, including the campuses at Chico and Fresno. Prior to 1932 he taught at Bakersfield Junior College and Redlands High School. He served as mlieutenant senior grade in the U. S. Navy during World War II. He holds many honors for his academic work and as a naturalist photographer. He is the author of three books on mammals, including "Mammals of the Pacific States" published in 1965, as well as many articles and papers on mammals and other wildlife subjects. He produced three films on the natural history of Central and South America, Australia and Africa and was known as a lecturer on nature subjects. His survived by his wife, Elizabeth; a daughter, Helen Ingles Brubaker of Bakersfield; a son John of King City; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held today at 10 a. m. at the Little Chapel by-the-Sea, Pacific Grove with the Rev. Kenneth Whitney of St. Paul's Episcopal Church of Palm Spring officiating.
