Shirley M. Over, 74, of Sligo, died at 10:45 a.m. Tuesday, April 29, 2008, at the Clarion Hospital.
Born June 6, 1933, in Piney Township, Clarion County, she was a daughter of Jewell and Helen Botzer Hackberth.
Mrs. Over was a homemaker. She was a member of the Zion Baptist Church and attended the Monroe Chapel United Methodist Church. She enjoyed tole painting, crafts, gardening and cooking. She also loved snowmobiling and motorcycling.
She was married June 21, 1952, to Ronald D. Over, who survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Ronald Lawrence Over and his wife, Jill, of Shippenville, and Jerry L. Over and his wife, Brenda, of Reidsburg; four grandchildren, Kristen Henry and her husband, Luke, of Harborcreek, and Jonathan, Joshua and Johanna Over of Reidsburg; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and an infant grandson.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today in the Robert V. Burns Funeral Home of Clarion. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in the funeral home with the Rev. Jerry Belloit, pastor of Monroe Chapel United Methodist Church, presiding and the Rev. Randy L. Evans, Clarion-Forest VNA Hospice Chaplin, assisting. Interment will be in Sligo Cemetery. The family suggests memorial donations be made to the Clarion-Forest VNA Hospice, P.O. Box 668, Knox, 16233.
