George Wallace Delamater served a State Senator from 1887 until 1890. Died in Philadelphia. One-time prominent resident of Quay County NM. born Steuben,Crawford Co, PA

Mr Delamater was very despondent about the recent deaths of his son and father, and shot himself in his office in the Diamond Banking Building. He worked for Prudential Life Insurance. Was mayor of Meadville at one time.

His bank later failed and was said to have been involved in suspicious banking activities.
