Milton joined the United States Army and attained the rank of Sargent Major. During his career he served in Vietnam and worked in the Pentagon for the CIA. Milton met his future wife, Marga Kauper in Germany while he was stationed there. They fell in love and were married in 1961 in Ansback, Germany. They were blessed with 2 daughters and 2 sons.
