Holland, Dale D., 82, of Boulder, Colo., formerly of Wichita, died Tuesday, Nov. 12, 2002. Service at a later date; cremation will take place; interment at Fort Logan Veterans Cemetery, Denver.

Mr. Holland was born Sept. 15, 1920 in Preston, Kan. to Benjamin Holland and Hazel Dobbins Holland. He married Virginia King on May 28, 1948 in Wichita.

He served in the 8th Air Force during World War II, from 1943 to 1945, as a gunner on a bomber plane. Staff Sergeant Holland was shot down over Germany and served time in a POW camp. He received a Purple Heart, two Bronze Stars and a Good Conduct Medal for his service.

Preceded in death by parents; son, Paul Holland.

Survivors: wife, Virginia Holland of Boulder; sons and daughters-in-law, Curtis and Kimberly Holland of Carbondale, Colo., Brad, Robert both of Boulder; sisters and brother-in-law, Donna Morrill of Wichita, Joette and Eddie Quinn all of Wichita; grandchildren, Benjamin Holland, Rebecca Holland both of Carbondale, Colo. Memorial established with Humane Society of Boulder Valley, 2323 55th St., Boulder, CO 80301. Howe Mortuary, Boulder.
