Sarah Margaret Lewis Orr, 88, of the Mt. Harmony community near Athens, died Wednesday, Nov. 30, 2005, at Athens Regional Medical Center.

Born Sept. 3, 1917, in McMinn County, and a resident of McMinn County for most of her life, she was a daughter of the late John S. and Jessie Lee Shultz Lewis. She was preceded in death by one son-in-law, David Donaldson; two sisters, Johnnie Mae Lewis and Anne L. Clark; and two brothers, Neil Lewis and John Lewis Jr. She was a member of Mt. Harmony Baptist Church, where she had served as pianist for the childrens choir for several years. She and her husband owned and operated the Orr Farm and she was a member of the Mt. Harmony Home Demonstration Club. She was a former supporter of the McMinn County 4-H Program and a supporter of the McMinn County High School band program.

Survivors include her husband of 70 years, Lloyd Isbell Orr of Athens; seven daughters and five sons-in-law, Ella Donaldson of Corryton, Daisy and Melvin King of Gatlinburg, Beth and Dr. Bill Bruce of Brant Lake, N.Y., Helen and Howard Hamby of Chattanooga, Judy and Danny Hughes of Athens, Sue Orr of Johnson City, and Laura and Bob Dunbar of Pembroke Pines, Fla.; one brother and sister-in-law, Robert M. "Bob" and Grace Lewis of Niota; 22 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Many thanks to Jean Atchley for her loving care in the past two years.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Mt. Harmony Baptist Church with the Rev. Brad Watson and the Rev. Stanley Hammonds officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with grandsons serving as pallbearers.

The body will lie in state from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday at the church. The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Laycock-Hobbs Funeral Home.
