While born in Conn., Dan and the family moved to Steuben Co., New York and on to the Conn. Western Reserve settling with his family in Geauga Co., OH. In c.1858 he moved further west to Lenawee Co., MI residing for a few years in Rome Twp. During or immediately after the Civil War, he moved to the Bronson Twp. area of Branch Co. just east of Burr Oak, MI, where he died in 1867.
